Wrestling Video Games: All Star Pro-Wrestling

All Star Pro-Wrestling is a professional wrestling video game exclusive to Japan. It was developed and published by Square on June 8, 2000 for the PlayStation 2. It was the first wrestling game published on this platform.

All Star Pro-Wrestling was released in a period in which Square sought to diversify its catalog by producing various non-role-playing games for the PlayStation 2. The game was notable for its control relying exclusively on the Dual Shock 2's analog sticks, although a second mode using the normal buttons was also available.

While the quality of the game's graphics was lauded and sales were good during its month of release, the control was received negatively by critics, who felt it was awkward and unintuitive. Nevertheless, the game spawned two sequels in the following years.

2001 Ghost Recon Game forshadowed Russian War Video:

"In 2001 a video game was released called Ghost Recon. This video game perfectly forshadows the current war between Russia and Georgia over South Ossetia. Keep in mind it was released in 2001, but was supposed to take place in the future.

The date in game for the conflict was set for August 2008! So 7 years ago a game was released that not only predicted what would happen and where but even predicted the time down to the month!"

'Dark Knight' reigns not in video game

The Associated Press: 'Dark Knight' reigns not in video game:

"LOS ANGELES — It's a puzzle worthy of The Riddler: Why is there no video game based on 'The Dark Knight'?

For the first time in the film-franchise's history, the caped crusader flew into movie theaters without a video game attached to his utility belt. Despite a plethora of 'Dark Knight' action figures, bobbleheads and T-shirts sweeping in Bat-dollars beyond the film's $400 million record-smashing box office, no 'Dark Knight' game is following suit.

Whatever held things up caused about $100 million in sales to be missed, according to estimates."

Video game's user content spawns naughty Web 'Sporn' - CNN.com

Video game's user content spawns naughty Web 'Sporn' - CNN.com:

"(CNN) -- When makers of one of the most anticipated video games of the year invited users to help design part of the game, the gamers jumped at the chance to create animated characters.
Users will have the option to incorporate other people's 'Spore' designs or choose to block them all.

But some took it upon themselves to create something entirely different: a new kind of Internet porn.

It started when the makers of 'Spore' released a Creature Creator program that allowed users to develop their own characters to drum up hype before the game's scheduled release in September.

The game, a joint venture from 'Sims' creator Will Wright and Electronic Arts, allows users to create a unique creature and then control its evolution from a single cell into a complex cultural civilization."
